Ancient but still relevant - if not seminal, agro-ecological characterization of land suitability as means to sustainable agriculture was in the works ... 30 years ago! (https://lnkd.in/edUdZFvJ). Unknowingly, Polyor SAS's AgroNum approach to integrated fertilizer management (www.polyor.fr) draws an arc linking such databases and current innovative N-fertilizer response curves. The latter, thanks to powerful AI algorithmes & databases, can now be used routinely in agricultural consultancy across Europe for the sustainable development of non-Fabaceae field-crops.
