Lots of talk about AI. This said, AI is really about implementing collective intelligence (CI). This AI/CI conjunction has been extensively reviewed. For instance (https://lnkd.in/eYnxNu_J ; https://lnkd.in/eFjJJXnA ; https://lnkd.in/e4dkbQU9 ; etc.).

Polyor SAS's AgroNum approach to sustainable agriculture and soil organic matter conservation (https://lnkd.in/eBmfT3NM) is also a form of CI implemented by AI. A collection of Individual field-crop trials is pruned to excluded nitrogen-fertilizer use efficiencies (NfUE) either too low or too high not conducive to soil organic matter conservation & build-up. This screening is repeated iteratively hundreds, ... thousands of times to finetune AgroNum's AI algorithm. The tuned AI algorithm is then used to construct field-specific N-fertilizer response curves indicating sustainable grain-nitrogen yields at any given N-fertilization application rate, and vice et versa.

Interestingly, these targeted grain-N yields & N-fertilizer recommendations are accurate & precise because they are collective. Unknowingly, each trial contributes to the overall average standardized sustainable NfUE at any given site that can then be used to retro-calculate the aforesaid N-grain target yields and corresponding N-fertilization recommendations. In retrospect, this is a classic case of AI implementing CI.
