Grain-nitrogen yields (kg-N_grain/ha) at 0-N_fertilizer (aN1) from long-term experiments across Europe and those predicted by Polyor SAS's AgroNum algorithm (https://lnkd.in/epGhriM6) are quite similar. These basal aN1 values mirror the soil's indigenous non-symbiotic fixation potential (azb), often overlooked in the past. Increasing azb (aN1) in the presence of soil-borne crop residues has always been a key element of Polyor SAS's integrated fertilizer management (ifm) approach to sustainable agriculture ; cf. Claude & Fillon's seminal 2004 (!) article (in French) - https://lnkd.in/etUGNYEJ
